Mitchell likes to focus on the more emotional and intense topics in the city. Most of his topics that he does report on will involve adolescents and their many decisions. He reports on the high school news and the many things that go on there. Also Mitchell reports on college sports and the many things that go on with that.
The occasion with him is always going to involve high school or college. This could fall under many types of reports, such as sports, financial problems, and also any social injustices happening. He focuses on writing about the topics that could effect the immediate parties, meaning the students and parents involved. His writing has always directed towards the same audience with some variations. Those variations would be shifting from high school to college students. Also along with the students he could address their parents. In the article he wrote about the drug documentary in Fulton county he was addressing high school students and their parents to help spread the word. The purpose of his articles are to inform the people. He may write about sports in college and also high school. He is not trying to persuade the people to believe a certain reason. Mitchell's purpose is always to help the public stay informed about popular topics. All of his topics need to be spread throughout when reporting on news that could effect manny people and their families. The subject of his reports are high school sports and information and college sports and information. His tone throughout the article about drugs seems to be somewhat somber. The fact that a high school student was forced to kill themselves through a substance abuse is very wrong to him. The words he was using showed that he felt bad for the students who had to suffer through that emotional time. He wanted to make sure that the word spread so others could be warned.
